A targeted intervention to provide youth with disabilities with appropriate assistive technology, supported by structured onboarding, user training, and peer-to-peer mentorship. The support will enable youth to use assistive devices effectively for learning, communication, mobility, work-readiness, and participation in employment or entrepreneurship pathways. Experienced assistive technology users, including youth with disabilities, will support peer learning to strengthen confidence, independence, and sustain use of the devices.
Who Can Apply:
Age Range:
18–40 years
Location / Counties: Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu, Embu, Kilifi, and Turkana counties
Gender Requirements:
Young women with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. Young men with disabilities are also eligible.
Education or Skill Requirements:
No formal education requirements. Applicants must have an existing business or an intention to start one.
Other requirements:
• Youth with disabilities requiring assistive technology support
• Youth enrolled in, or seeking access to, skilling, education, entrepreneurship, or employment opportunities
• Willingness to participate in needs assessment, device orientation, and follow-up support
