ABOUT THE PROGRAM
This program supports young urban refugee women to build sustainable livelihoods by equipping them with the digital, entrepreneurial, and professional skills needed to succeed in the digital gig economy.
Many refugee women in urban settings face significant barriers to economic participation, including limited access to digital devices and internet, low digital literacy, negative perceptions of online work, and a lack of mentorship and market linkages. This program addresses these challenges through a holistic, gender‑responsive approach that combines digital access, skills training, mindset transformation, and post‑training support.
Participants receive practical training on digital gig work, online entrepreneurship, and the use of digital platforms such as social media marketing and freelancing marketplaces. The program also focuses on professionalization, helping participants build digital portfolios, improve branding and pricing strategies, and safely navigate online work environments.
In addition, the program integrates entrepreneurship training, financial literacy, mental well‑being support, mentorship, and peer learning, enabling participants not only to generate income but also to grow resilient, dignified, and sustainable businesses.
